A judge has found Trump-holdover Postmaster General Louis DeJoy hindered the 2020 election with intentional slowdowns – shutting down sorting machines, removing postal boxes and preventing carriers from making extra deliveries – during a pandemic when voters were relying on mail-in ballots. That judge has put orders in place to prevent DeJoy from repeating those actions.

Today, the United States Postal Service continues to languish under DeJoy’s failing leadership. Enough is enough with this guy! He is intentionally dismantling a valued and needed national institution – and he won’t quit until he is fired.

President Biden can ensure that happens, and in the process, score a wildly popular win for the American people. It’s time he saves the post office and nominates two new board members who will get the job done.

To oust DeJoy, we must have a USPS Board of Governors who is willing to do just that. Only the USPS Board can fire DeJoy, and that’s exactly what they should do after his numerous failings, conflicts of interest, and destructive leadership.

There are two vacancies slated to open on the Postal Board this coming December, and President Biden will have the opportunity to appoint governors who will stand up to DeJoy’s destructive leadership and advocate strongly for the expansion of USPS services.
