We’re less than one month away from Election Day and this race is going to come down to you.
When you head to the polls on or before November 8, remember there is only one candidate in this race who has fought for the issues you care about most.
Women’s Rights
When the U.S. Supreme Court packed with Donald Trump appointees overturned 50 years of legal precedence to strip away women’s rights across the country, I fought to protect the reproductive rights of women here in Delaware.
I joined with 17 other strong women in the General Assembly to expand access to abortion services, enhance protections for abortion providers and make sure women seeking care in the First State could not be prosecuted elsewhere. I also supported amending Delaware’s Constitution to guarantee personal reproductive liberty is protected in the First State.
Voting Rights
As other Legislatures across the country imposed arcane new rules to make voting harder, I worked to expand access to the ballot box and make voting more convenient for working families.
I voted to allow no-excuse absentee voting during the pandemic, only to have Republicans in Dover unite to block a constitutional amendment making vote-by-mail permanent for future elections. I believe it’s well past time for Delaware to become the 24th state that allows safe and efficient voting by mail and I am committed to leading this fight in the next General Assembly.
Equal Rights for All
I was a prime sponsor of not one, not two, but three equal rights amendments to Delaware’s Constitution because I believe fair and equal treatment under the law is central to our democracy.
I voted to protect people of color from discrimination based on their hairstyles. I voted to protect people of all faiths from discrimination based on how -- or if -- they worship. And I voted to make the Delaware law more inclusive by updating the definitions of sexual orientation, gender identity and disability.
Racial Justice
I consistently supported legislation to rebalance the scales of justice to ensure all Delawareans are treated fairly and equally under the law. I voted to update Delaware’s hate crime laws, eliminate racial disparities in both our public schools and our courtrooms, and give second chances to people who have paid their debt to society. And I supported a series of bills aimed at reducing the horrific racial disparities in our healthcare system.
I’m asking for your support on November 8 because we can’t afford to go backwards when it comes to our core values. Let’s keep pushing forward, together.
