I’m Brooke Lierman, and I’m running to be Maryland’s next Comptroller.

I’m a civil rights and disability rights attorney, a public school mom, and a leader in the House of Delegates.

For eight years, I have had the honor and privilege of serving as a State Delegate in the General Assembly. From the first door I knocked on in 2013 through today, I have loved every minute of working in communities, learning from Marylanders, and championing statewide legislation to build a more prosperous, equitable, and thriving state. Each and every year has been different, but my goal of eliminating barriers and increasing opportunity for every Marylander has never wavered.

As a leader on the Appropriations Committee and Chair of the Joint Committee on Pensions, I know how uniquely situated the Comptroller is to tackle the income-based issues and economic challenges Maryland families & businesses face – and I have a track record of bipartisan leadership that demonstrates my ability to get things done.

In the primary election, we won the Democratic nomination by over 30% of the vote — an overwhelming victory and a message from voters across the state that they’re ready to unlock the potential in every community to ensure our families and businesses can truly grow and thrive.

As State Comptroller, I will advocate for you and all Marylanders to ensure that we are using the power of this important office to increase upward mobility, uplift every community, and build stronger small businesses and families. I will work with you to make positive, lasting changes to address the systemic causes of disinvestment and racial inequity and cultivate a more financially resilient economy — for every Maryland resident, family, and small business.
