Hello

Thank you to everyone who attended and participated in the Movement Ecology workshop last Thursday! If you are wanting to go deeper in the material or weren't able to make it, we invite you to participate in our virtual Movement Ecology Cohort next Wednesday and Thursday (10/19 & 10/20).

The purpose of the 2 day Movement Ecology Training is to bring together new and experienced leaders and activists in Social Change who are looking to support their communities but may be feeling uncertain or stuck and in search of new ideas and strategies to bring their mission and organizations to the next level. This is a more in depth training and experience than the workshop where we get to go deeper into the concepts, examples, and practices. The deadline to enroll has been extended until TOMORROW, October 12th. You can find more information on the Movement Ecology cohort here.

Request a Workshop for Your Organization

If you are interested in bringing the Movement Ecology or Seasonality workshop to your group or organization and can't make the free workshop, we are also offering a limited amount of free individual group presentations through the end of the year. These workshops would be introductory 2 hour presentations specific for your organization. We ask that you have at least 10 people committed to the workshop if you would like to request one.

Leadership & Organizational Seasons Workshop

Lastly, we want to remind everyone to sign up for the last of our free fall series workshops, Leadership and Organizational Seasons. This workshop is about the cyclical patterns that exist in our leadership and social movement organizations. Seasons and cycles help us to understand, appreciate and protect the ebbs and flows that occur throughout our time in this work.

As we’ve experienced in this work, there are times when we’re externally focused and there’s energy to do things. And there are times when we’re in an internally focused state, where we seem dormant to the outside world, but our energy is just focused internally as opposed to externally.

We believe that each stage in this cycle has a purpose, gift and limits that can be applied to our lives, leadership, organizations, and movements. In this workshop we dive into our leadership and organizational seasons specifically, and provide answers to some of the common questions that come up when we’ve previously shared the framework:

  • What do seasons look like in my leadership? What should I be doing and how can I get support?
  • How can we integrate seasonality into our work and lives? What are some next steps I can take?
  • What should we do if I’m in one season and my organization is in another?
