We’re officially 28 days from the midterm election.
Alexandria is facing off with a MAGA Republican opponent who attended Donald Trump’s rally in Washington that preceded the January 6 siege of the Capitol.
Last year, our Republican opponent raised $10 million against us, and this year our opponent is hosting $500 per plate fundraising dinners across the country in order to fund their disinformation campaign against us.
How are these MAGA Republican candidates able to raise so much money against Alexandria when our district leans so Democratic? Because for the MAGA crowd, winning this race isn’t the point. They use the campaign as an opportunity to attack and discredit Alexandria and the values she stands for. They want to spread disinformation and lies that weaken our democracy and hurt the policies we’re fighting for.
Just a few weeks ago, our opponent’s campaign set up a massive #OustAOC sign on a highway overpass in Queens. She also held a rally against immigrants at a site where buses were dropping off asylum seekers from Texas to New York.
We need to be ready to fight back against their mailers, posters, commercials, and digital ads with deep organizing and truth telling, which is why we’ve set a goal to hit 8,559 contributions by midnight on October 15. By doing so, we’ll ensure we have the resources we need to head into the last weeks before the midterm election strong.
No matter what, we’re going to stay focused on the facts and issues that matter to the people of NY-14 — and the work that Alexandria has done to fight for working families.
