The news broke on Friday that the GOP Attorney General candidate, Julianne Murray, and the Republican Party’s efforts to suppress Delawareans' voting rights were successful when the State Supreme Court ruled that vote-by-mail and same-day registration were not constitutional.
It’s hard to believe how hypocritical the GOP can be. In one sentence, they tout election integrity, only to turn around and restrict voting access, undermine our electoral process, and spread blatantly false conspiracies.
We’re working hard to turn every eligible voter out and combat Republican efforts to cheat their way to victory. True election integrity comes from protecting access to the ballot box, and with our rights on the line this year, electing Democrats who will protect our right to have an abortion, marry who we love, and cast a ballot has never been more important.
Delaware’s Democratic Attorney General Kathy Jennings fought tooth and nail to preserve Delaware’s previously bipartisan vote-by-mail law and combat voter suppression. At a time when one party is insistent on doing whatever it takes to win, the importance of having a competent Attorney General to protect our rights can not be overstated.
