The CEI Hub is a six-mile stretch of oil tank farms, including Zenith, in NW Portland along the Willamette River. Despite years of public outcry against Zenith’s dangerous operations, on October 3 the City of Portland quietly gave Zenith the green light for five more years of oil trains. Furthermore, the entire CEI Hub is on a "liquefaction zone"—meaning in the likely event of an earthquake, the soil will become the consistency of cake batter. This would result in absolute catastrophe for our communities, the ecosystem, and the Lower Columbia River.
We are organizing to make sure that doesn’t happen and we need you. We hope to see you at this event on Thursday as we educate and activate to continue this fight!
