John,
For the first time in decades, Ken Calvert is being forced to run an actual campaign in a competitive seat, so years of corrupt practices are coming to light.
Here’s one example: In 2005, Ken Calvert purchased property near the March Air Reserve Base near Perris, CA. Months later, he sold that land for nearly a half-million dollar profit. Turns out, he directed earmarks to build a highway exchange nearby that property right before the sale — boosting its value.
In fact, Ken Calvert has increased his net worth by up to $20,000,000 since assuming office. He was also ranked one of the “most corrupt members of Congress” by nonpartisan ethics watchdogs.
A big reason people lost trust in our government officials is because of political corruption like this. That's why one of the first bills I look forward to passing is a total ban on stock trading by Members of Congress. Insider trading is illegal for you and me, and that should be the case for politicians.
With Election Day less than a month away, we need to expose Calvert’s self-serving track record. Will you chip in $3 or whatever you can to show voters there’s an alternative who will bring an end to this kind of corruption?

It’s no secret that running campaigns are expensive, but I reject corporate PAC money. I believe in serving the people – not special interests.
Although it makes campaigning harder to depend on grassroots donors, I wouldn’t have it any other way.
