Subject: Elect an environmental champion to Federal Office
Our California Federal priority candidates need your support
California’s Federal delegation continues to be on the frontlines of advocating for solutions to the climate crisis and advancing equity in Washington DC. With the November 8 General Election just around the corner, we’ve identified six environmental champions running for federal office whose victories are key to the future of climate action at the Federal level.
With the passage of the Inflation Reduction Act, we saw just how important our California representatives are in moving real policy solutions to the climate crisis in Washington DC.
With the balance of power in DC at risk, California once again stands poised to be the antidote. Especially given the new Congressional district maps this year, the opportunity exists to send more environmental champions to represent us at the national level.
By contributing through California Environmental Voters, not only does your donation go directly to the candidate, it sends a message to them that the environmental movement is firmly behind them.

Alex Padilla (CA) – US Senator Alex Padilla has demonstrated he is a champion of climate justice, public lands, and environmental justice since being appointed. His persistent leadership for climate and environmental justice were critical in passing the Inflation Reduction Act. Contribute today to ensure that Senator Alex Padilla stays in Washington D.C. to be the climate justice leader our state and country deserve.
Kermit Jones (CA 03) - Dr. Kermit Jones is a family doctor and Navy veteran running to represent California’s 3rd Congressional District. Dr. Jones’ commitment to wildfire preparedness and land stewardship are crucial to protecting California’s Sierra Region from extreme wildfire, heat, and drought. He can be a game-changing leader for this district, but he needs your support to win.
Christy Smith (CA 27) – As an Assemblymember, Christy Smith was a leader for climate and the environment. In the face of heavy opposition, she stood for what is right for her community against the interests of the oil and gas industries. She has the backbone our representatives need to lead in Congress. Her opponent is a climate denier and Trump ally. She needs the environmental and climate justice communities to stand behind her.
Will Rollins (CA 41) - Will Rollins is a former federal prosecutor with a green vision for Palm Springs and Riverside. Will is committed to increasing incentives to expand clean energy and create good jobs in the process. His opponent is a climate denier that we need to get rid of, so help us elect Will to Congress.
Katie Porter (CA 47) - Congresswoman Katie Porter has crafted several pieces of legislation that protect our planet for our kids and grandkids. She’s led efforts to increase the cleanup of harmful PFAS chemicals in Orange County and has been holding oil companies accountable to save consumers money. Let’s keep Katie in Congress!
Mike Levin (CA 49) - Congressman Mike Levin is a top leader in Congress on climate action and clean energy. He holds a critical position on the House Natural Resources Committee and the Select Committee on the Climate Crisis, and was instrumental in keeping key climate provisions in the Inflation Reduction Act. He is a climate champion who needs to stay in Congress.
