Friend —

It's been more than seven months since the conflict in Ukraine began, and the dire situation for Ukrainian families and children continues to escalate.

As Ukraine's government has regained control of the eastern regions of the country, we are getting a much clearer picture of the devastation brought by the conflict.

Thousands of residential buildings, schools, health centers and community buildings have been destroyed, putting millions of people at risk of losing access to electricity, water and shelter.

On top of it all, Ukraine's harsh winter is about to set in, compounding the danger for millions of people who have already endured violence and shortages of essentials like food.

HOW THE IRC IS HELPING IN UKRAINE » [link removed]
Friend, the IRC is preparing assessments in these reclaimed territories to identify immediate needs as the number of people forced from their homes in Ukraine increases once again.

Since February, the IRC has coordinated our emergency response efforts in Ukraine with local partners to reach those most in need. We are in Poland, Ukraine and Moldova, delivering vital services such as cash assistance, mental health support and safe healing and learning spaces for children.

The bottom line is: This winter will be incredibly difficult for Ukraine's people, whose lives have been shattered by conflict and economic crisis. Just as we have throughout this war, we will continue doing everything we can to help civilians survive, recover their lives and thrive despite these unimaginably difficult circumstances.
