Welcome to?*Justice Today*, the official podcast of the Department of Justice's Office of Justice Programs, where we focus on programmatic and policy efforts to address chronic and emerging criminal justice challenges nationwide. We feature federal leaders, criminal justice professionals, program experts, and community-based partners who aim to address criminal justice challenges and create safer communities.

This past month, we celebrated the people who have taken the long journey?towards recovery from substance use issues and supported those who are on?the road to recovery.

The newest Justice Today Podcast features Elizabeth "Betsi" Griffith, BJA?s Associate Deputy Director, who discusses BJA's work in recovery and some of the lessons learned from it. Ms. Griffith is part of a team that administers the Comprehensive Opioid, Stimulant, and Substance Abuse Program, otherwise known as COSSAP, which is the largest United States Department of Justice-funded program that addresses substance use in American communities.
