Girls are creative, tenacious, resourceful and resilient. When they have access to education and their rights are protected, they can reach their full potential and become changemakers in their community.
Still, 129 million girls are out of school around the world and a lack of investment in girls’ education is limiting their futures. As we commemorate the tenth anniversary of the International Day of the Girl, we’re focused on ensuring every girl has a chance to learn, especially as they contend with the impacts of the pandemic and disruptions to their lives.
Make a difference for girls by calling on your Members of Congress to re-introduce and pass the Keeping Girls in School Act. This bill would address global barriers to education and invest in access to education for millions of girls. Write to your legislators >> |
The pandemic has worsened existing burdens on girls and set back important progress for their rights and futures. Over the next year, UNICEF is committed to making up for lost ground and helping girls recover. That means uplifting the leadership and voices of girls calling for change, increasing resources for and investments in girls and improving access to services tailored to help girls at all times — especially in crisis response and recovery.
We’ll keep you updated on how you can help realize these goals for girls. For now, use your voice to call on your legislators to pass the Keeping Girls In School Act so girls around the world have access to education and a better future.
Thank you for advocating for children,
