For Immediate Release: October 11, 2022 Next Caring For ME healthcare career event October 12 in Portland Recent events have attracted over 100 participating businesses?and 200 job seekers PORTLAND ? Maine?s Caring For ME, a collaborative campaign from the Maine Departments of Labor (DOL), Health and Human Services (DHHS) and Economic & Community Development (DECD) to attract more employees into the direct care and behavioral health fields, will hold its next hiring event on Wednesday, October 12 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at FedCap, 220 Maine Mall Road, in South Portland. Direct support and behavioral health jobs are integral to Maine?s workforce and wellbeing. At this event, learn more about the types of occupations in these fields, and connect with employers who are looking to hire now! This is the next in a series of pop-up hiring fairs, following recent successful events in Waterville, Ellsworth, Brunswick, and a statewide virtual event. So far, over 100 employers have participated, and 200 job seekers have attended. ?By far the best job fair I have been to all year,? Shannon Klemanski of Uplift Inc. said of the Waterville event. ?It was very well organized, and the healthcare focus approach was the right niche for us.?We talked to applicants throughout the event and applicants were engaged and eager for work.
