Call to Action

Oct. 15–16 Voter Mobilization

Dear John,

CALL TO ACTION: OCTOBER 15–16 VOTER MOBILIZATION

Don't miss out on your chance to inspire voter turnout and make the difference for our future on this coming weekend Oct  15–16, just four more weeks to election day!

Comrades, friends, family, neighbors and co-workers across the country are called upon to do everything you can to reach out to voters and talk about the high stakes of this election.  Democracy and freedom are on the ballot.

Will the uprising for union rights, reproductive rights and voting rights, for racial and environmental justice and peace be in position to go onto the offensive for new victories?  Or will all our hard-won rights be destroyed?

The results depend on voter turnout.  Turnout of working-class Latino, Black, AAPI, Native American, women and youth voters will decide this Midterm election.

On October 15–16 start by making sure you and all you know are registered to vote, have a plan to vote early or by mail or on election day, and are bringing others with them.

Then reach out some more.  Join with allies to register new voters where it is still possible.  Have conversations about how the way to win power is to vote collectively and continue to organize after election day.  Go door to door with unions, get on phone banks with community groups, write postcards, or send out mass texts. There is something everyone can do. It is an inspiring experience.

We chose this weekend so we could also be part of the Poor People's Campaign national mobilization on October 15.  At noon on main streets across the country join with the Poor People's Campaign and their message to low-wage and low-wealth voters – health care is on the ballot, poverty is on the ballot, the right to choose is on the ballot, the climate is on the ballot, and especially the very right to vote and have our votes counted is on the ballot.  Your vote can change the politics of this country.

Our CPUSA strategy for the critical 2022 Midterm elections calls for a united front to defeat the fascist elements and be in position to bring all the new labor and people's organizing onto the offensive.
