Did you see our note to you earlier today?

Hi John,

Earlier today we sent you a note about Divin and Nadine, a Congolese couple and their family. They had been through so much — fleeing their home and being torn apart, life in a refugee camp and finally being reunited here in Boise, Idaho. You can see their story below.

With your help, we can reunite refugee families like Divin and Nadine’s and provide newly arrived refugees with immediate support, such as a furnished home and a stocked fridge, English classes and job training. As you can imagine, it’s very difficult to start over in a completely different country.

Our goal is to help refugees become self-sufficient and we can do this, but only with your help. Please donate now and your gift will be matched, which means more refugee families in Boise and across the U.S. will get the support they need to start again.

Thanks so much for everything,

Julianne Donnelly Tzul

Dear John,

Divin and Nadine didn't know if they would ever see their family again.

They were safe in America, but after drastic cuts were made to the number of refugees allowed into the U.S., their family’s flight to the U.S. was cancelled — four times.

Refugee families like Divin and Nadine’s are being torn apart. Help us reunite refugee families and provide other critical support to refugees now. Double your gift in support of the IRC’s work in the U.S. »

Divin, Nadine and their family had fled war in Democratic Republic of Congo 15 years ago. Much of their life was spent in a refugee camp far from home.

"It’s important to remember these people have gone through unimaginable hardship, war and persecution," says Divin. "We don’t choose to be refugees — it's not a choice."

This family did not have a choice when they left their home. Today, you do. You can decide to support refugees like them and others in America. And if you donate now, John, your gift will have twice the impact.

In November, Nadine and Divin’s family arrived in Boise. They were finally together again. While the wait is over for this family, there are so many people who are still separated, and others who are in need of your support.

Donate now and The TripAdvisor Charitable Foundation and the TripAdvisor traveler community will match all gifts in support of the IRC's work in the U.S.

With your support, the IRC not only reunites refugee families, we also give refugees arriving in America a safe home and hope for the future. Please make a gift today so it can go twice as far for refugee families here in the U.S.

That means:
$50 can cover a month of English classes for TWO refugees, instead of one »
$100 can help reunite TWO refugee families, instead of one »
$120 can provide a welcome basket for TWO families, instead of one »
$200 can provide workday supplies for TWO refugees, instead of one »

With your support of the IRC, we can also provide additional services, including education, housing and vocational training to refugees, asylum seekers and vulnerable immigrants.

John, thank you so much for helping refugee families and supporting them as they restart their lives.

With gratitude,
The IRC Team
