Friend,

My name is Michael Sutherland, and I live in Gerritsen Beach. I spent most of my summer in 2018 interning for Andrew, fighting to get him elected. When I knocked doors and spoke to voters during that race, I was often asked: why do you support Andrew?

I was always prepared for this question, not because I had rehearsed it, or because I was reading off a piece of paper—but because I knew it in my heart.

I support Andrew because he supports us, and he fights for what we believe in. He fights for save streets, for a free, quality public education from Pre-K to college, and for the rights of all people. He’s not beholden to any group or community—he fights for all of District 22.

Andrew is everything a good public servant should be: he’s honest, he’s transparent, and he cares. It doesn’t matter what party you are or where you live—he listens to everyone. To him, public services means actually serving the public.

I believe in Andrew Gounardes, and you should too.
