As Democrats, we need to show young voters that our government and our democracy can work for them.
Hey John,
If Democrats want to win both in November and in the future, we have to earn the support of young voters.
In 2018 and 2020, young voters have helped us win here in historically red Orange County. We’ve helped turn them out by having dedicated youth organizers and advertising on the social media platforms they use most.
The young people I meet are paying attention to what’s going on, and they’re concerned about the same things I hear about from voters of all ages: Our rights being taken away, the unsustainable rise in the cost of living, and rising hatred in our communities.
As Democrats, we need to show young voters that our government and our democracy can work for them. That means having elected officials who are responsive and represent their voters, not special interests. It means having an economy that actually works for working people. And it means successfully communicating when we pass meaningful legislation—it’s my job as an elected official to tell my constituents how I can help—not the other way around!
