Hi John,

I’m personally reaching out because over the next week, you’re not going to hear much from me. I’ll be off the campaign trail and in Washington focusing on some important Congressional work.

Of course, my team and I don’t want to leave you hanging. They’ll keep you up-to-date on my work and our fast-paced race here in VA-02.

The last time I was off the campaign trail, our fundraising took a severe nosedive – and that’s something we absolutely can’t afford this close to November. Please, will you pitch in $25 to make sure my team isn’t scrambling to close a big fundraising gap in my absence?

Truthfully, I hate to take time away from campaigning in the most competitive battleground district in the nation. But my duty as a member of Congress isn’t to advance my own career. It’s to ensure that we pass down a dynamic and thriving democracy to our children.

Republicans seem to have a problem with that, but frankly, I don’t care.

My oath of office will always come first. And if that’s the reason I lose this election, I’ll never regret doing what’s right.

Fortunately, we still have a few weeks to counter the GOP’s exorbitant spending and defend this district, but it’s going to require huge grassroots energy to pull this off.

So will you chip in $25 to help me fight back against the wave of attacks national Republicans are hurling my way?
