Please allow me to introduce myself, I’m Mike Ford, the Democrat running for US Congress in Georgia’s 9th Congressional District. I’m trying to pull off an epic upset to unseat extremist Republican incumbent, Rep Andrew Clyde.

As I make my way across Georgia's 9th District, I am both energized and humbled by the growing support. Georgians, particularly women and parents of daughters, are deeply and rightfully scared of unchecked Republican extremism on the march, both here in Georgia and across our nation.

People of all political stripes are coming out of the woodwork to support my campaign. Democrats, Independents, and a growing number of fair-minded Republicans, keep telling me that elected Republicans have gone too far and they are ready to vote Democratic this November 8th.

I welcome everyone to join me in our collective fight to defend our democracy, restore women’s full reproductive rights and autonomy over their own bodies, protect our voting rights, protect Social Security and Medicare, and eject divisive right-wing extremism from our US House of Representatives.

A Bit About the 9th Congressional District
After the 2020 election when Democrat Carolyn Bourdeaux won in GA-07 in Gwinnett County, Republicans in the Georgia State House redrew all the districts across the state. Their cynical goal was to gerrymander the maps in their favor, to divide and dilute the growing Democratic majority in the metro-Atlanta suburbs.

Attention Gwinnett County Residents: As you can see in the map above, Gwinnett County is now split into three different Congressional Districts:

Bob Christian is the Democrat running in GA-06
Rep Lucy McBath is the Democrat running in GA-07
Mike Ford the Democrat running in GA-09

If you know someone in Gwinnett County, or any of the fourteen counties listed above that are in GA-09, please forward them this email to help inform them of changes to our election maps, because knowledge is power.

Don’t forget that tomorrow, Tuesday, October 11th, is the last day for Georgians to register to vote in the mid-term elections. If you or someone you know is a US Citizen, 18 years or older, simply go to the Georgia Secretary of State website to register to vote and/or double-check your current voter registration status.

Early voting starts Oct 17 but hurry, check now to make sure your voter status is still valid. Talk to family, friends, neighbors, co-workers and encourage them to register.

Election Day is Tuesday, Nov 8. We need everyone to show up to vote Democratic. Remind your family, friends, neighbors, social media network that they don’t have to be a Democrat to vote Democratic. I welcome their support and their vote.
