Abolition, donate to abortion fundraiser, come out to the clean, join in the membership meeting and DO NOT celebrate Columbus Day.
Hello Comrade,
We are happy to announce that ourAbolition Everywhere Akron Area resolution has passed! Beginning with an education campaign about how policing touches every aspect of working-class life, work on this campaign will begin ASAP. If you are interested in being a part of this work, we encourage you to email our chapter. Please refer to the above link with the resolution for details of what this work will look like.
Last year Akron City Council did a good thing in eliminating Columbus Day but took a wrong turn and instead of Indigenous Peoples Day, Akron council gave us Italian American Heritage and Culture Day. You can providepublic commenton your feelings about this either via Zoom or in-person next week, Monday October 17th at 7 pm.
Finally, our general meeting will be held on Wednesday, October 26th at 6 pm. We will again be meeting at the Akron-Summit County Public Library Main Branch and the meeting will be hybrid. Please join us via Zoom if you are unable to attend in-person.
