Hi Friend,
This time in 2017, we were still reveling in our first wins as an organization: eight Flippable candidates were elected to the Virginia House of Delegates and Flippable alum Senator Manka Dhingra flipped Washington State blue. One year ago, we celebrated a game-changing midterm in which Democrats flipped seven legislative chambers and 67 of our candidates won their races. Those victories continued into 2019, when we returned to Virginia to help flip the General Assembly blue in the state’s final legislative elections before redistricting in 2021.
In all, we’re proud to have helped elect 95 Democrats in 14 states since Flippable’s launch in 2016. And we wouldn’t be able to tell this success story without you, Friend.
Together, we’ve weathered daunting political times by taking a stand for democracy. We’ve channeled outrage with gerrymandering and voter suppression into action. And importantly, we’ve stayed inspired by progressive leaders who advance a vision of what good government can do.
Now we’re ready to take on the 2020 election with our best foot forward. Since joining forces with Swing Left earlier this year, we've been hard at work on ways to set Democrats up for success by developing new tools to achieve maximum impact. One of those tools is a streamlined hub for political giving, with competitive races and proven voter mobilization organizations all in one place. We're excited to share it with you in the coming months.
But we still have a lot of work to do. Our Super State Strategy requires building robust organizing teams, creating new cutting-edge technologies, and mobilizing voters in highly competitive districts.
