John,

The stakes of this year's midterm elections are higher than they've ever been in our lifetimes, so with Election Day less than a month away, I want to explain how the NDRC has shifted our strategy in response to changing circumstances — in addition to explaining why support from our donors will be critical to executing our plans. (This might get long, so if you don’t have time to read the whole thing but would like to contribute, please click this link.)

For the past five years, the NDRC has been effective at changing the redistricting landscape. By starting early, we helped shift the balance of power, built a robust grassroots network, and mobilized record levels of public engagement in the redistricting process, leading to the fairest districts this country has seen in a generation.

But redistricting has always been part of the larger fight to protect our democracy – and with MAGA election deniers on the ballot, the threat to our fundamental system of government is greater than ever. So building on our progress over the past few years, there are three major pillars to our strategy this year:

  1. Help elect pro-democracy candidates to key offices up and down the ballot. We're targeting races in 17 battleground states across the country that will be critical to the future of our democracy, and so far we've endorsed over 400 outstanding candidates who are committed to doing everything in their power to preserve free and fair elections.

  2. Protect voting rights and expand access to the ballot. With many GOP state legislatures continuing their crackdown on voting rights, it's as important as ever to make sure every eligible voter can make their voice heard. That's why we and our affiliates are actively turning out the vote to prevent map manipulators and election deniers from impacting the future of fair maps, voting rights, and democracy itself.

  3. Defend the integrity of our election infrastructure. This means ensuring our elections are properly and smoothly administered, and that election deniers are not successful in their efforts to corrupt the pool of election workers and infiltrate election administration from the inside.

Here's the thing: Like all of our work over the past five years, this work takes resources, and our projects will only be successful if our grassroots community contributes. We're counting on your help to meet our fundraising targets so we can keep up this critically important work.

So John, if you’re able, will you pitch in to the NDRC so we can keep up this democracy-saving work?
