A new year and a new decade will soon be upon us. And this coming year in particular is one of great uncertainty.

While it might sound cliche, 2020 really will be the most critical election in most of our lifetimes.

It will be on all of us to do our part to ensure that Donald Trump is removed from office, and that we elect candidates up and down the ballot ready to fight for structural change like a Green New Deal, Medicare for All, a wealth tax so billionaires pay their fair share, an end to mass incarceration, and more.

While defeating Donald Trump is absolutely critical, we can’t stop there. Not when millions of students are struggling under crippling student debt, when people with diabetes are forced to ration their insulin, or when climate change threatens the futures of generations to come.

Trump didn’t create any of these problems — he merely threw gasoline on the fire.

That’s why we need to elect candidates to Congress and all the way down the ballot who are ready to get to work on day one to undo the damage of Trump and work towards a brighter future for all working families. But in order to get there, we’ll all need to step up and do our part.
