Team,
Republicans in every corner of the country are pushing for outrageous, inhumane bans on abortion and reproductive care at every level – Senator Lindsey Graham has even proposed a nationwide ban.
With ballots arriving in mailboxes, there couldn’t be more on the line.
Bans on abortion are a despicable attempt by Republicans and right-wing extremists to control the bodies of pregnant people – or even people who might become pregnant, as seen by those in states with abortion bans who are now being denied medications because they could become pregnant in the future.
It’s unacceptable, and I’m fighting back: I’m using every tool I have to defend our fundamental rights and ensure that abortion remains legal and accessible for all. But if people don’t come out to vote in this critical election, we could fall short. We can’t let that happen. Please, join me in pledging to vote this year.
Here in California, we’re doing the opposite of Republicans who are pushing these bans: My office has been working to protect and expand reproductive freedom, and to ensure that all who are in need of care are able to access it. And this November, you can join the fight: Proposition 1 would codify the right to abortion and the full range of reproductive care in the California Constitution.
I’m supporting Proposition 1 because I believe that reproductive rights are fundamental and belong to each Californian – not to politicians eager to strip them away.
We have the chance to pass Proposition 1 and enshrine reproductive rights in the state constitution – but we need to make sure every single voter is planning to turn out this year.
So please, right now – join me in taking the pledge to vote in November.
Thank you,
Rob Bonta
