I want to take a minute to talk about what faith means to me.

No matter what your religion or belief system, I believe faith is not about following some set of rules for your own personal gain or doing good for the sake of feeling good. And it’s certainly not about casting judgement, creating division, or spreading hate over our differences.

For me, it’s about serving your community, leading with love, and lifting others up.

My grandfather was the first Black minister in the history of the Dutch Reformed Church. He taught me to have faith, not fear. Those are words I live by and lead by.

Through him, I saw firsthand how our faith communities are a force for creating a more just and righteous society. As governor, I will always partner with our faith leaders to accomplish that mission.

With less than one month left until Election Day and a historic opportunity to make positive change for the people of Maryland, let us come together and have faith in our ability to meet this moment.

Elevate,

Wes
