Finding kids' movies isn’t hard. But finding great movies for kids? That’s a bit harder. Right now, parents are swimming in stories aimed at kids. In fact, quantity is a big part of the problem. The haystack is growing, and the needles are better hidden in it.
So, with the help of film critic dads, we sought to curate a list of 100 kid’s movies we think every child should see before they turn 10. There were rules, of course: Each film had to be well-received enough to have mostly favorable reviews on respected publications like Common Sense Media or Rotten Tomatoes. These had to be films that families could find — and stream — easily. And finally, the movies had to exhibit a timeless quality. Chances are you’ll be annoyed with some of our choices (that’s the risk when dealing in nostalgi). But we stand by our list and hope it serves as a go-to source for finding something great to watch on family movie night. |
