John, I understand how annoying emails like these can be. I’m sure you get lots of them; I know I do. But here’s the thing — your support is critical to the success of this campaign, and it is not something that I take for granted.

My team and I pop into your inbox often because we want to make our case to you, my supporters. We don’t assume that we have your support, instead, we work hard to explain why we hope you’ll lend it to us. That means explaining what is at stake in this election without being hyperbolic, telling you what you can do, and (hopefully) inspiring you to chip in $3 or whatever makes the most sense for you.

Any amount makes a real difference because this is a race that will be won by a narrow margin. New Hampshire is a deeply purple state that I won by just 1,017 votes in 2016.

The Granite State’s political make-up and my razor-thin margin of victory has made this one of the top battleground races in the country, but it is a race I know we can win – despite tough odds – if we all pull together.

If you’re with us, please pitch in what you can, and if you want us to know that we can count on your support, I hope you’ll consider making your gift a weekly one.

I really appreciate you giving me the opportunity to ask for your support.

With every good wish,
Maggie Hassan
