We have devastating news. A recent report from BirdLife International shows that almost half of all bird species are experiencing population declines.

The announcement provides a glimpse into a rapidly approaching world where a worsening global biodiversity crisis threatens more and more species with extinction – including one in eight bird species.

The report finds that increased agricultural demands and climate change are the main culprits for this devastating trajectory for our feathered friends. Birds are a critical and irreplaceable part of their ecosystems. Losing them would mean unthinking destruction to our environment.

John, we need to turn things around for the birds and all wildlife threatened by a changing climate. By acting now, we can save other endangered species that will be next if we don’t act.

We’ve had success before saving endangered species. Without the Endangered Species Act, we would’ve lost the humpback whale, the American alligator, the grizzly bear, and the bald eagle.
