In just one month, it will be Election Day. Time really flies when you’re trying to defend democracy.
There’s no doubt that every election matters. But given the stunning rise of far-right, anti-democratic candidates attacking our fundamental rights and freedoms -- including the right to vote -- the 2022 midterms are uniquely critical.
We HAVE to do everything we can between now and November 8th to help elect champions of democracy and prevent the far-right from taking control of the House and Senate.
At J Street, we’re fully committed to that struggle. We pride ourselves on being the political home for pro-Israel, pro-peace Americans, because we know our Jewish and democratic values will only be safe if we also fight for them on the campaign trail and at the ballot box.
Even before Donald Trump’s election in 2016, we sounded the alarm about the threat posed by the MAGA movement, and mobilized our communities to push back. In these midterms, we’re backing House and Senate candidates in key battleground races across the country with everything we’ve got. We simply can’t afford to sit on the sidelines.

We’re so grateful to every member of our movement who is standing with us against Trumpism. Against white nationalism and discrimination.
While some right-wing groups in our community continue to excuse and empower extremist candidates, each of you helps to demonstrate where the vast majority of Jewish Americans and pro-Israel Americans really stand.
We know that MAGA Republicans’ hollow claims to be “pro-Israel” can never excuse the ways they endanger our safety and basic freedoms. We know that their extreme foreign policy positions only undermine hopes for Israeli-Palestinian peace and endanger Israel’s future as a democracy and homeland for the Jewish people.
On Election Day, we must elect Congressional majorities that will stand up for democracy and the rule of law -- in the US and around the world. To do that, we need to give everything we’ve got over the month ahead.
Let’s leave it all on the field and do everything we can for what’s right.
