John,

At the end of this email I'm going to ask you to make a donation to the NDRC. But before I do that, I hope you'll let me explain why I'm asking.

We talk a lot in these emails about democracy and safeguarding democracy. What does that even mean?

It probably means something a little different to everyone. Here's what it means to me:

A government that's truly of, for, and by the people. Self-autonomy. People working together for the collective good. That means progress: more health and happiness, less suffering. Progress on issues across the board: Reducing gun violence. Improving health care. Lessening inequity. Making sure everyone has enough to eat. Safe communities. Being able to express ourselves freely without fear of harm.

Maybe it means something different to you. But I think we can all agree that we deserve to have control over our lives and our leadership. In America, we do that by voting.

But there are those who would discount our votes, or give certain votes more weight than others, or even throw out the result of an entire election if it doesn't match their preferences.

That's who the NDRC is up against in this election. It’s not just about not seeing eye to eye – it’s about how we’re willing to be governed. Whether it’s you and me choosing our leaders, or having them forced upon us.

And that’s why I’m asking for a donation. Because the 2022 election is an existential election. And we need everyone – including you – on board.

Please pitch in. >> [link removed]

Thanks John.

A.G. Holder: If the NDRC is successful in undoing manipulated maps, we will be able to achieve a system in which everyone's vote counts.
Since 2017, the NDRC has executed a comprehensive redistricting strategy that shifts the redistricting power, creating fair districts where Democrats can compete. Our victories have been made possible by our strong community of grassroots supporters.
