Earlier this week, we released a new brief addressing the role of
administrative waste in excess US health spending. Researchers have
estimated that at least half of all administrative spending in the
United States is wasteful.
Key findings from the brief include:
* Administrative spending accounts for 15-30 percent of health care
spending.
* The US spends more on health care administration than comparable
counties.
