PRIDE OF SCOTLAND!

Dear John,

We’re thrilled that our stunning Born Free Forever lions have arrived in Scotland, and will remain in central Edinburgh until January 2023 - the culmination of our Year of the Lion celebrations!

Our magnificent pride of life size bronze lions and cubs, created by world-renowned public artists Gillie and Marc, are currently on free public display for FREE at The Meadows, EH8 9LJ (what3words: think.star.vows), following a roarsome launch this week.

If you are in the area, it’s not to be missed!

The sun shone as Edinburgh awoke to find our lions had arrived in the city. Walkers and city workers gathered to admire the stunning sculptures, as dozens of school children from George Heriot’s School enjoyed a lion art workshop with Edinburgh-born artist Jane Lee McCracken, drawing the sculptures and learning about the special lions who have shaped our charity.

“It was absolutely wonderful to see so many people interacting with the lions and scanning the QR codes to find out about the real-life stories behind the sculptures. Born Free Forever is such an important part of our Year of the Lion celebrations, and highlights our ongoing work to protect these iconic animals – both in captivity and in the wild. We hope that many thousands of people will come along, marvel at the sculptures, learn about our vital work, and pledge their support.”
Adele Mills, Head of Fundraising

Our stunning lions will be in Edinburgh until January 2023 - please come along to support our work to protect this iconic species during our Year of the Lion and FOREVER! After which these beautiful sculptures will be looking for their forever home. Each bronze sculpture is now available to buy ( [link removed] ).

Edinburgh is the final stop for our UK tour – don’t miss your last chance to meet our pride, and don’t forget your camera (we love seeing your lion selfies)!

With thanks from your friends at Born Free

PS In partnership with Essential Edinburgh, three of our beautiful Born Free Forever lion statues can be found in St. Andrew Square Garden!
