Wendy Davis.
You may know me from my 13-hour filibuster as a Texas State Senator. When
Republicans wanted to close almost every clinic that provided abortion
care in Texas, I laced up my sneakers because I firmly believe in every
woman’s right to make her own decisions about her own body.
But what you may not know is that in 2014, I ran against Greg Abbott for
Governor. So, you can trust me when I say that Beto needs all of the
support we can offer him right now.
I know firsthand how much money Abbott will pour into this race to crush
our grassroots momentum, so with 31 days until Election Day, I'm asking:

you please give anything you can right now to power Beto's campaign to
defeat Abbott? If we don't win, Texans will lose.
Like so many women, I knew to expect the overturning of Roe v. Wade, but
on the day the decision came down, I still felt a crushing disbelief.
Because of Roe, I was able to make decisions born of love for my family
when faced with an ectopic pregnancy, and later, a fatal fetal abnormality
in a much-wanted pregnancy. What will happen to other families who
confront similar and very personal health care decisions?
We know what they’ll face in Greg Abbott's Texas where abortion is
outlawed, even in cases of rape or incest. I am filled with sadness
knowing that my two granddaughters are growing up in a state that does not
guarantee them the right to make their own health care decisions.
But even in the face of this crisis, I still cling to the belief that we
possess the power to make a positive impact and to change the course for
the better. Across the state, Texans are showing us they're ready for
change. Young Democrats are registering to vote in huge numbers, and Beto
is keeping this a close race!
Beto has committed to protecting women’s freedom to make decisions about
our own bodies. As governor, he will fight to repeal Abbott's extreme
abortion ban and restore reproductive rights. I'm supporting Beto for
governor because this is a matter of life or death for Texans — will you
join me?
