... African elephants. These and other iconic creatures share a common
fact: they're vulnerable and are at risk of extinction.

Yet earlier this year, the Trump administration undermined the Endangered
Species Act, making it harder to protect countless wildlife and their
habitat and putting a plethora of creatures at even greater risk of
extinction.

We must put a stop to this. NRDC and our partners have already filed a
lawsuit in federal court against the administration and this unprecedented
assault on our wildlife. This legal fight will be tough, and we urgently
need your support so we can fight back against President Trump's attack on
endangered species.

The Endangered Species Act is our nation's most important law for

protecting our planet's most vulnerable species. This dangerous rollback
will:

* Eliminate automatic protections for species listed in the future as
"threatened" — hampering the preventative measures we need to take to
protect species from becoming endangered in the first place
* Limit consideration of climate change impacts in key parts of the law,
making it more difficult to protect animals like polar bears and
others impacted by the climate crisis
* Allow the Trump administration to more easily put fossil fuel and
other industry demands above the needs of our wildlife, without
considering all impacts on listed species
