Jack, according to the Washington Post, the majority of Republican nominees, up and down the ballot, deny the 2020 presidential election results. It gets worse, of the nearly 300 GOP candidates they followed, 174 are running in safely Republican seats and 51 are in tight races.

They looked at candidates running for governor, lieutenant governor, secretary of state, attorney general, and U.S. Senate and House—all offices that have some measure of power and influence over how elections are run and votes are counted. These Republican candidates see nothing wrong undermining the will of the voters if it benefits their side. This is a direct threat to the integrity of our future elections and the foundation of our democracy.

We are fighting to protect our democracy by keeping election-denying Republicans far away from the offices of overseeing our elections. Daily Kos is hard at work recruiting volunteers to mobilize every possible Democratic voter to the polls in November. Please donate $5 to Daily Kos today.

The Post's analysis shows that support for Trump's Big Lie and attempted coup to overturn the election results has gained momentum and is stronger than it was two years ago. Republican primary voters have emboldened these nominees, but now is our chance to elect leaders that will protect our democracy and respect the will of the voters.

We are working around the clock to recruit over 75,000 volunteers to contact millions of undecided and infrequent voters in 2022–twice the amount of volunteers we recruited in the 2018 midterm elections. Our volunteers are already doing the important work of connecting with voters by writing letters and postcards to key voters, knocking on doors, signing up for phonebanking shifts and training to become poll workers. However, we still need to recruit more volunteers and provide the tools to connect with voters. This all costs us real money to run these programs.

While Republicans look to overturn elections, we are fighting back by turning out voters. You can help us protect our democracy by supporting Daily Kos' Get Out the Vote campaign with a donation of $5.
