I hope you had a wonderful week and you get an opportunity to spend time outdoors this weekend, especially as the leaves begin to change! Folks travel from far and wide to experience the beautiful fall foliage here in the Granite State, and it reminds me how lucky we are to call New Hampshire home.

I was honored to join the annual Congressional Law Enforcement Awards last night.

Across New Hampshire, law enforcement officers put themselves in harm’s way every day to protect our communities and keep us safe. Last night, I was honored to recognize Granite State law enforcement officials and individuals who have demonstrated heroic actions in the line of duty. 

The Congressional Law Enforcement Awards represent an important opportunity to recognize and honor their courage and commitment to public safety. I extend my sincere thanks and gratitude to this year’s recipients and their families who support them day in and day out.

Meeting with Little Antlers Learning Center and Mid-State Health staff.

This week, I visited Little Antlers Learning Center in Plymouth to tour the child care center and meet with its staff and staff from Mid-State Health, which operates the facility. Child care is essential for Granite State families and far too many are grappling with a lack of affordable child care options in communities throughout our state.

Expanding access to high-quality, affordable child care is essential, and I was proud to help advocate for and secure federal funding for Little Antlers Learning Center to upgrade and expand their facility, tripling the number of children who they can help to learn and thrive. Thank you to the leaders from Little Antlers and Mid-State Health who took the time to meet with me. I look forward to continuing these conversations and working to make child care more affordable and expand access for hard-working New Hampshire families.

It was wonderful to meet with residents and staff at Greystone Farm at Salem.

This past week, I met with residents and held a discussion with staff at Greystone Farm at Salem to hear about the challenges facing their community. Lowering health care and living costs for Granite State seniors and ensuring that folks can thrive and age with dignity are among my top priorities in Congress. Senior living solutions including independent living, assisted living, and nursing homes in New Hampshire and across the country have faced many challenges since the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic, and I remain committed to implementing solutions to address staff shortages and other obstacles.

I was proud to help pass the Inflation Reduction Act to cap the amount seniors pay for their prescription drugs and empower Medicare to negotiate drug prices. I’m thrilled that this historic bill included my legislation to make life-saving vaccines available to seniors at no cost. I thank Greystone Farm at Salem’s team for meeting with me and I look forward to sharing their insights with my colleagues as I continue working to lower costs for New Hampshire seniors.

Yesterday, Congressman Chris Pappas and I welcomed White House senior advisor Mitch Landrieu to New Hampshire to discuss the bipartisan infrastructure law and see firsthand some of the projects that are bolstering public safety and our economic competitiveness. The bipartisan infrastructure law is a critical investment in the future of the Granite State.

In case you missed it, I penned an op-ed for the Union Leader on my Lower Costs & Stronger Economy Agenda. We have taken critical steps to lower prices in the short term and reduce inflation over the long term, but we can’t stop here, and we won’t.

My Lower Costs & Stronger Economy Agenda outlines steps we have already taken to lower costs for Granite Staters and strengthen our economy and outlines additional actions that should be taken to address inflation further.

One of my most important jobs as your representative is helping Granite Staters.

This month, hearing aids will be available over the counter without a prescription or exam. This could save Granite Staters thousands of dollars and will remove financial barriers to getting hearing aids.
