As of today, the midterm elections are exactly ONE MONTH away.
The New York Times reports that the U.S. Senate races in Pennsylvania, Wisconsin, Georgia, and Nevada are all TOSS UP races that will determine which party controls the U.S. Senate, and if Democrats get the two additional seats we need to eliminate the filibuster.
If we can win all four, we can abolish the filibuster so that a Democratic majority in the U.S. Senate can pass legislation to restore and protect abortion rights nationwide, protect our democracy and voting rights, and more. If we lose, Mitch McConnell will run the Senate.
These campaigns are all attracting national attention and are all facing huge dark-money funded attacks in these crucial 4 weeks leading up to Election Day. So now is the time progressives must ask themselves a hard question:
Can I lean in and volunteer some of my valuable time to do the work of democracy and talk with voters one-on-one?
- YES! I’m absolutely can. (Sign up to make calls from home for Mandela Barnes in Wisconsin, John Fetterman in Pennsylvania, Raphael Warnock in Georgia, and/or Catherine Cortez-Masto.)
- No, I can't commit to volunteering right now, but I will donate to their campaigns so in these critical 4 weeks they can get their message out to voters, respond to unfair attacks, and turn out progressive voters who share our values.
Thanks for being a bold progressive.
