Folks — With one month until Election Day, there’s something important on my mind: Will every ballot be safely delivered to voters, and will every vote be counted?
Last election, Donald Trump and other Republican leaders started to deny election results when it wasn’t the outcome they wanted.
And it’s not just the results of the elections: ever since Trump-appointed Postmaster General Louis DeJoy took charge of the USPS, folks had trouble receiving their mail-in ballots.
Recently, some state legislatures have made it harder to vote by eliminating ballot drop-boxes and changing eligibility requirements for voter registration — including here in Wisconsin.
Wisconsin was recently rated one of the hardest states to vote in — the state legislature’s Republican majority has added more hurdles and barriers for people to legally cast their ballots.
Look, we should be making it easier, not harder, for voters to cast a ballot. A person’s vote is their voice in our government, and we need to hear from every voice to have a representative, honest government.
I’ve committed before to voting for universal vote-by-mail, and now I’m asking you to add your name alongside mine in a commitment to make voting easier. Will you sign on?
Thank you for taking the time to stand with me in raising awareness of this important issue. With just a month left in this election, it’s more important than ever that we make sure folks can safely and securely vote.
