For the first time ever, the Department of Veterans Affairs is providing abortion counseling, as well as abortion care to veterans and their eligible dependents who need an abortion to protect their life or health.

The harsh reality is that there are countless abortion bans, barriers, and burdens meant to shut down providers and block patients from vital care. And we know that these restrictions most significantly affect communities of color and those with lower incomes.

Maintaining and expanding abortion access will take conviction, commitment, and creativity. Every policy that protects abortion brings us closer to a world where nobody is denied the care they need — including veterans.
