John, I’m reaching out today with a deeply personal request.

I was born in India and grew up in India, Indonesia and Singapore before coming to the United States for college.

And today I am the first South Asian American woman ever elected to the House of Representatives.

There are thousands of activists all across the country working to redefine what leadership looks like. Team ASPIRE is pushing for every single person to be a part of that conversation. With your help we can amplify those voices. That is why I am humbly asking you to join me in supporting ASPIRE before midnight. The pandemic has deepened and exposed the systemic injustices that AAPI communities were facing long before COVID-19.

It is VITAL that we support those on the frontlines of this battle.

I have seen firsthand the power that we hold when we band together for justice.

I don’t want anyone to ever grow up thinking they can’t run for office -- because of their race, ethnicity, sexuality, gender, and/or religion.
