By now, you’ve probably seen the most recent scandal surrounding Herschel Walker, the Republican candidate for U.S. Senate in Georgia:
But let’s be clear, John: This story is not about Walker’s actions, but about his hypocrisy — and the hypocrisy of the entire Republican Party on the issue of abortion.
When he was asked this week about reports that he paid for his girlfriend’s abortion, here’s how he responded:
“If that had happened, I would have said there's nothing to be ashamed of there.”
He’s right. There’s nothing shameful in seeking abortion care.
What is shameful is how Republicans are proposing a national abortion ban for everyone else — and are counting on votes from Herschel Walker, Ron Johnson, and Dr. Oz in the Senate to make it happen.
We just have a month left to remind voters that abortion should be accessible to everyone, not just the privileged few — and to elect champions who will make that vision a reality. Can you donate $4 today to help us get out the vote for candidates across the country who will stand up for abortion rights for all?

Republicans believe they can play by two sets of rules, John.
Herschel Walker is not the first GOP candidate who sought abortion care, while publicly calling for other people seeking care and doctors to be prosecuted or worse.
When these Republicans talk about banning abortion, we know what they’re really after — controlling people’s bodies. They are saying so out loud. Just look at this quote from former NRA spokesperson Dana Loesch, in response to the news about Walker:
“I don’t care if Herschel Walker paid to abort endangered baby eagles. I want control of the Senate.”
John, we can’t afford to let any more hypocritical Republicans like Walker get elected and bring us closer to a national abortion ban. Please rush a donation of $4 today to help elect champions across the country who will codify abortion rights into law.
In solidarity,
Team WFP
