AFSCME Family,
There is less than a month left to take advantage of a temporary waiver that makes it easier than ever for public service workers to qualify for student loan forgiveness under the Public Service Loan Forgiveness (PSLF) program.
We urge you to act now, because the waiver period is set to expire on Oct. 31, 2022.
Created by the Biden administration, the temporary PSLF waiver expands the types of loans that can become eligible for forgiveness and allows borrowers to earn PSLF credit for past loan payments, even if they were previously denied.

AFSCME has updated our Student Debt Resource Page with additional resources to help AFSCME members qualify for the relief you deserve. Updates to the page include informational sessions about the PSLF program and step-by-step recorded webinars on how to navigate the Federal Student Aid website.
In addition to these new resources, AFSCME is partnering with the Student Borrower Protection Center (SBPC) to provide an informational webinar that will walk you through how to qualify for student debt forgiveness under (PSLF) and answer your questions.
There are several upcoming webinars in October:
Wednesday, Oct. 12 at 6 p.m. PT
Monday, Oct 17 at 12 p.m. ET
Tuesday, Oct. 25 at 6 p.m. ET
