| Dear Friend, Donald Trump is turning Ginni Thomas into a folk hero for the extremist right wing. The wife of Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas was just compelled to testify to the House of Representatives' January 6 committee because of her role in trying to overturn the 2020 election. But to hear Trump tell it in his rally to thousands of people, Thomas is a person of “courage and strength” who fought for justice.(1) Whose voice will prevail: Trump’s, or Thomas’ in her own testimony? That’s up to you. Courage California is demanding that the January 6 committee air its final hearings -- including Ginni Thomas’ testimony -- during prime time on the major networks so that millions of people can learn the truth about how deep the conspiracy to push Trump’s Big Lie goes. We’ve collected more than 200,000 signatures, and now we need to push our demands on social media and advertise far and wide that the January 6 hearings must be accessible to all.
Ginni Thomas is anything but a hero. She was instrumental in coordinating the efforts between Trump’s White House team and state officials in Arizona and Wisconsin to try to overturn the election results.(2) She has personally donated more than $16,000 to Republican candidates and has been a high-profile attendee of events for extremists, despite the fact that her husband sits on the Supreme Court.(3) She also told the January 6 committee that she still believes the 2020 election was rigged.(4) Ginni Thomas isn’t only a danger to our democracy on her own -- she has influence over one of the most powerful people in government: her Supreme Court justice spouse. Her treasonous actions must be broadcast to the country when the most eyes are watching. And we know from the past hearings that when they are aired during prime time, viewership reaches Sunday Night Football proportions.
