This month’s devastating hurricanes underscore just how critical it is that we elect climate champions this election. Three things you can do RIGHT NOW to be voter ready:
Election Day is now just one month away. And the devastation we have seen in the wake of hurricanes Ian and Fiona shows just how high the stakes are. Climate change is increasing the frequency and severity of these storms — which take lives, homes, and businesses in the blink of an eye.
In just 30 days, voters could determine whether we elect leaders who acknowledge the links between burning fossil fuels, a warmer planet, and the increase in devastating storms and who are committed to confronting this climate crisis — or leaders who will continue to ignore the obvious and put polluters over people.
Your engagement this election can make a world of difference. Here are three actions you can take right now to ensure you can cast your ballot on November 8:
Make sure you are voter ready. Whether you need to check your registration or need information about your nearest ballot drop-off location or polling place, the NRDC Action Fund has you covered.
Forward this message to three friends! Have them check their registration too. We’re all in this together, and every vote matters in this crucial election.
When supporters like you help us pull out all the stops, we create real change like the recently passed Inflation Reduction Act, the historic climate law that will help secure a clean energy future. But Trump-endorsed Republicans on the ballot want to do everything in their power to undermine this landmark legislation — and these recent storms reinforce that we can’t afford to give them that chance.
Every single climate champion we elect to Congress matters. Right now Democrats have majorities in both chambers by razor-thin margins. And with so much work still to be done to transition to cleaner energy and protect our lives and livelihoods from unchecked climate catastrophes, we need all the allies we can get on Capitol Hill.
With just 30 days to go until this crucial election, I am glad to have you fighting with us.
Sincerely,
Kevin S. Curtis
