Learn more about what my office has been up to this week Dear john, This week, Congress was out of session for a District Work Period. If you observed Yom Kippur, I pray that you had a meaningful and easy fast. Here are a few updates from my office for the week: Celebrating Public Service in GA06 This week, I was proud to uplift the success of one of GA06's own, Anita Patel. Anita is a recipient of the 2022 Samuel J. Heyman Service to America Medal. Known as the Oscars of government service, the "Sammies" are the premier awards and recognition program for federal employees. I am so proud that this district is home to such bright and talented people like Anita who are making exceptional contributions to our government and to our nation. Congratulations, Anita! Celebrating Our Schoolteachers This week, we recognized World Teachers' Day. It is an important reminder to celebrate our teachers who dedicate themselves to caring for and uplifting our youth year-round. Thank you, teachers, for continuing to guide, enrich, and inspire all those who learn from you! Honoring Those Who Served The application deadline for my upcoming Vietnam War Pinning Ceremony is quickly approaching. If you are a Vietnam War veteran or an immediate family member, you may be eligible to be recognized. The application deadline for the November 10th ceremony is this Monday, October 10th. Enter the Congressional App Challenge My office is still accepting applications for the 2022 Congressional App Challenge, a competition designed to promote innovation and inspire student engagement in computer science, coding, and technology.
