John, Gov. Youngkin is continuing to take heat for his discriminatory new school policy. ICYMI: he is trying to cancel protections for trans students put in place by former Gov. Ralph Northam. This is a pattern with Youngkin: he is determined to erase any trace of the progress secured by his predecessor, no matter how much it hurts Virginians. Students across Virginia have heroically led protests against Youngkin’s reckless and harmful decision to diminish their trans peers, and this week, the city of Richmond said we don’t want this mess either. On Monday, the Richmond school board voted to reject Youngkin’s policy and put the safety of their students above political expediency. Board member Liz Doerr said Youngkin’s policy is contrary to the values of Richmond Public Schools, telling local news, “I think it’s important to show the trans community that we are behind them [and] we are not going to accept these regressive and backwards policies.” Standing up for all Virginians, – Team Ayala Paid for by Hala for State Senate
