john,
Yesterday, President Biden pardoned ALL prior federal offenses for simple marijuana possession — helping thousands of Americans who have been denied jobs, housing, and federal benefits because of their non-violent marijuana convictions.
It’s an important step, but much more needs to be done. The federal prohibition on marijuana is a failed policy that contributes to mass incarceration and the racist over-policing of communities of color.
It’s time to end that policy to protect the health, safety, and civil rights of all Americans.
Legalize it.
Add your name to my petition calling to deschedule and decriminalize marijuana, and together, we can begin to address the harmful and racist legacy of the War on Drugs.
We must address legalization in a manner that ensures that cannabis and cannabis products are safe, regulated, and well-researched.
Congress has the tools to make that happen, and the President has signaled his willingness to move forward by taking this important step. With your help, we can enact criminal justice reform, take action on the mass incarceration crisis, and change our nation’s discriminatory marijuana laws.
Thank you for adding your name today.
