President Toni Preckwinkle has dedicated her public service life and career to fighting for progressive values we share. Recently, her office has announced a Guaranteed Income Pilot Program that will help 3,250 families improve their economic stability. And while medical debt is the number one reason for bankruptcy in the United States, her office is taking action by launching the Cook County Medical Debt Relief Initiative which will cancel $12 million in medical debt for Cook County residents. And Toni has always been a strong advocate for women and women's rights. Toni has fought to make sure Cook County provides a broad range of health care services, including protecting access to full reproductive health care. And as Cook County Board President, she led a resolution by the Cook County Board of Commissioners in support of HB 40.
