John, big news:
[ [link removed] ]The Washington Post Headline
President Biden's announcement is a crucial step on the path toward
restorative justice. And while this is long overdue, it is welcome news
that will make a real impact.
But this is just the first step. Next, we must completely deschedule
marijuana from the Controlled Substances Act, provide expungement and
resentencing for past marijuana convictions beyond simple possession, and
treat substance use like the public health crisis it is.

For over 50 years, the "war on drugs" has destroyed the lives of too many
Americans and their families. This trauma has been felt through
generations and has a direct relationship to the racist over-policing of
Black, brown, Indigenous, and low-income communities today.
That's why Cori introduced the Drug Policy Reform Act last year to end the
"war on drugs," decriminalize drug possession, and turn to a
health-centered approach. Her bill would expunge existing records, provide
for resentencing, re-invest in health-centered approaches, and incentivize
state and local governments to adopt decriminalization policies as well.
As a nurse who witnessed watched Black families criminalized for heroin
use while white families were treated for opioid use and Congresswoman,
Cori knows it’s time to put wellness and compassion ahead of trauma and
punishment.
John, Cori will always be
committed to saving lives. [ [link removed] ]Will you support her with a donation of
