Friend —
As of October 1st, Tacoma Narrows Bridge tolls got 75 cents cheaper, thanks to the hard work Senator Randall did in the legislature on the transportation package this year!
Emily sponsored legislation earlier this year that starting this past Saturday lowered the tolls on the Tacoma Narrows Bridge. This will save the average commuting family hundreds of dollars per year and ensure that our region is getting the support it needs from our state budget.
Passing this bill was a huge priority for Emily — righting the wrongs of a bridge that was never funded correctly from the beginning. It always placed a higher percent of the total project cost on toll payers than any other state infrastructure project. Providing relief to the workers and students commuting each morning, the grandchildren who’ve been putting off visiting their grandparents, and the Gig Harbor business owners looking to reach customers from other parts of Pierce County was worth it.
This bill is just another example of the work Emily does for us. She set partisan and ideological differences aside, and worked to find common ground and deliver much-needed relief to the people of the 26th district. Emily is a champion for our communities, and a public servant that we can be proud of.
We have less than 5 weeks to go, and every day counts. Together, we will send Emily back to the State Senate, where she’ll continue to find solutions that put people first and deliver for our community.
Thank you,
Team Emily
